At Freedom Mobility, based in Limassol, we know how limiting it can be to be less mobile. When you are on holiday you want to explore a new country, to be able to get around easily to see the new sights, and check out the shops, restaurants and bars.

Rental of Mobility Scooters

We are an English couple, Brian based in Cyprus and Sue taking calls in the UK. Our business deals mainly in the sales and rentals of mobility scooters and wheelchairs for visitors to this lovely sunny island. We have both been confined to a wheelchair at various times and we KNOW the difficulties facing you, especially on holiday when you want to explore.

We have a showroom on the seafront in Limassol and we can deliver your chosen vehicle to your hotel or apartment, anywhere on the island. Alternatively, you can come into the shop and have a look around - you can find a map and directions to us on the links down the left hand side of this page.


IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT ALL PRICES SHOWN ARE IN EUROS AND ARE EXCLUSIVE OF DELIVERY AND COLLECTION CHARGE (anywhere in the South of Cyprus, we cannot deliver to the Northern Occupied side), everything else is INCLUDED in the rental cost. VAT is included at the current Cypriot rate of 15% on rentals, 5% on sales.

Delivery: This includes delivery and collection of your chosen vehicle to your hotel, a brief tutorial on how to use & charge the machine, and collection.


There will be a reduction to your quoted price if you are in a position to pick up and return the scooter (to and from Limassol) yourself.



The cost for your vehicle hire is in Euros and will be paid for in full when you take delivery. However, we will require a refundable deposit of £25 (sterling) sent to our address in the UK. This will be returned to you at your home address following safe collection of your scooter.

This 4 wheeled scooter above is a Shoprider Rascall TE888. This model was imported from the UK and is a very popular model - you can see it out and about anytime and you can check it out in any of the UK mobility shops. It is a slightly smaller version of the 'Deluxe' model, has a range of 20 miles, drives at up to 4mph, and has an easy to use swivel seat. It can take a weight of up to around 21 stones - if used at it's upper limit the machine will need recharging more frequently. You can hire this scooter for a great price - see list below.

The TE888 is a very reliable machine, fits into most hotel bedrooms/lifts easily, and can manouevre around your choice of restaurant/supermarket etc. It can be driven with just a finger and thumb for the forward and reverse gears, and can easily be driven with one hand.

It breaks into 5 pieces easily with no tools needed, so can be used for transporting in a car of medium size, eg Ford Mondeo type, although you would probably need an able bodied person with you to lift the pieces.

This lovely DELUXE 3-wheeled scooter is the newest addition to our small fleet! It has a maximum speed of 8MPH, a range of up to 25 miles on a fully charged battery, lights, indicators, wing mirrors, and a very comfortable swivel seat.

As a 3-wheeler it is very manouvreable in shops & restaurants, but is heavier than most and therefore far more stable. However, you should note that this will be too heavy to get in and out of a car easily, unless you have a very strong able bodied person with you!

This electric wheelchair has joystick control (can be either left or right handed), a wide comfortable seat, leg rests etc. It is easy to use, max speed of around 4mph with a range of around 15-20miles on a charge. One of the advantages of using a wheelchair is that you can drive it straight up to a table to eat ! The choice is yours..

You can hire this electric wheelchair for €120euros per week, with discounts for two weeks or more. PLEASE SEE PRICE LIST BELOW. Also, bookings of one month (4 weeks) or longer get free delivery.

So Exactly How Much Do I Have To Pay?

The prices quoted above include hire of the vehicle, there will be an extra charge for delivery/collection to and from your hotel. Cypriot taxes are included. Prices are Euros from 2008.

DELIVERY/COLLECTION CHARGES:-

Due to the rising costs of fuel in Cyprus, we now have to make a charge for the delivery/collection of the scooter to and from your hotel. You should bear in mind, for instance, that 2 returns trips from our shop in Limassol to Paphos is around 300 miles and takes our delivery driver a total of 5-6 hours or more.

CHARGES:-
Limassol: Euros - €15.00
All other tourist areas: Euros - €45.00

These charges will be added to the cost of your rental for the vehicle you request, giving you a total price.

How will I pay for my scooter ?

Your main payment will be made in Cyprus:-

By CASH - in Euros - when the scooter is delivered to your hotel. You will need to pay in euros so remember to get some money changed before you go! YOU GET A BETTER EXCHANGE RATE AT THE MOMENT IF YOU CHANGE YOUR MONEY IN THE UK RATHER THAN WAITING UNTIL YOU ARRIVE IN CYPRUS. We will ask you to pay your £25 deposit (in English pounds sterling) by cheque to our UK address to confirm your booking. This will be returned to you after you arrive home.

PLEASE NOTE THAT FROM 1ST MAY 2008 WE ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO TAKE CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS.

Unfortunately, we cannot take payment in Cyprus by Switch or Electron cards.

So, in summary: When you book you will send a cheque for the refundable deposit of £25 (English money) to our address in the UK. Then, when the scooter is delivered to your hotel, you will pay for the scooter rental, VAT, and delivery as quoted. When you return home your £25 will be refunded when the Cyprus office confirms safe return/collection of the vehicle on the date agreed.

Note: CANCELLATION POLICY:

If for any reason you cancel your booking MORE THAN 14 WORKING DAYS from the date of delivery, your deposit will be refunded in full. If you cancel LESS THAN 14 WORKING DAYS from the agreed date or refuse to take the scooter on delivery, no monies will be refunded.
